Grand Tour of Romania – 16 days is the most complete experience you can have in Romania. Our tour include 16 days for Bucharest and almost all the regions of Romania, to get familiarized with the beauties of the country called by Pope Ioan Paul the 2nd „The Garden of Virgin Mary” and will include visits and experiences in the most beautiful places in Romania.



  • Arrival in Bucharest on Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP) Bucharest – warm welcome to Romania

    On the way to the hotel – Bucharest city tour – Part 1 (by coach) including: on the way from the airport to the hotel will be presented the main objectives (the Press House, the Village Museum, the Arch of Triumph), THE LITTLE PARIS tour with Calea Victoriei and its palaces: Cantacuzino Palace, Casa Vernescu, the Romanian Academy, the Museum of Art Collection, Stirbey Palace, The Royal Palace and National Museum of Arts (masterpieces of Romanian and international artists), The Romanian Atheneum, The Revolution Square and The Rebirth Memorial, The Palace of Telephones, The Military Circle, The National History Museum including the Thesaurus and the copy of the Column of Trajan, CEC Palace ) and the largest building in Europe and 2nd largest in the world after Pentagon – the Parliament Palace

  • 17.00 – 18.30: City tour – part 2: THE OLD TOWN tour – THE MEDIEVAL BUCHAREST (walking tour) including:

    Day 2: Bucharest and outskirts:


    9.00 – 10.00 – visit the Romanian Atheneum
    10.00 – 11.00Bucharest tour – Part 3: The Golden Age (walking) – visit the relocated churches and palaces during the communist regime: Saint Spiridon Old Church, Saint Hierarch Nicholas – Mihai Voda Church (moved about 300 meters from its initial location), URANUS, Antim Monastery and the Sinodal Palace (weighting 9000 tones, rotated and moved about 25 meters from its initial location)
    11.00 – 12.30 – Visit the Parliament Palace – the largest building in Europe and second largest building in the world after the Pentagon
    12.30 – 13.30 – transfer to Mogosoaia
    13.30 – 14.30 – Lunch in Mogosoaia
    14.30 – 16.30 – visit the Brancoveanu Palace in Mogosoaia – the “Versailles” of Bucharest, and the beautiful park and lake
    16.30 – 17.00 – transfer to Bucharest
    17.00 – 19.00 – visit the Village Museum (a beautiful open air ethnography museum with more than 300 genuine households from all over Romania countryside)

    Day 3: Dobrogea and the Black Sea


    9.00 – 11.30 – departure to the seaside on the Black Sea highway, crossing the Danube at Cernavoda where can be seen the beautiful Cernavoda Brigde (around 5 km length and one of the longest in Europe)
    11.30 – 11.45 – visit of the Saint Apostle Andrew church and cave
    12.15 – 13.45 – visit the Adamclisi Fortress, Museum and the Triumphal Monument of Emperor Trajan
    14.15. – 14.35 – visit a traditional Tatar house
    15.30 – 16.30 – lunch on the Black Sea shore in Constanta
    17.00 – 17.30 – accommodation in Mamaia resort in 4* hotel
    Free time for relax or for night life

    Day 4: Constanta and the Danube Delta


    09.30 – 10.30 – visit of the Archaeology Museum in Constanta
    10.30 – 10.45 – visit of the Roman Mosaic
    11.00 – 11.30 – visit of the Carol Mosque
    Departure to the Danube Delta (included in UNESCO Patrimony for its biodiversity)
    12.30 – 13.00 – visit the Enisala Fortress
    13.00 – 13.30 – visit the Gazi Ali Pasha Mosque and the museum of the Turkish community in Babadag
    14.30 – 15.00 – accommodation in the Danube Delta in 4* / 5* hotel or resort
    15.00 – 16.00 – lunch
    16.00 – 18.30 – small trip on the Danube delta channels for bird watching or fishing
    19.00 – 23.00 – special night with traditional and modern dances

    Day 5: The Danube Delta


    09.00 – 18.00 – departure to Sulina to visit the place where Danube is flowing into the Black Sea, the old city of Sulina, the Pirate Cemetery (the only cemetery of pirates in the world) and the Old Lighthouses and the Palace of the Danube European Commission
    Visit of the Letea forest – the only subtropical forest in Europe, and the sand dunes (relics of the old sea that existed here)
    Lunch in a fishermen location
    Danube Delta tour continue with horse watching and bird watching
    18.00 – 20.00 – free time for relax or sport activities
    20.00 – 23.00 – dinner and thematic party, contests etc.

    Day 6: The Muddy Volcanoes, Belu Manor House, Winery experience


    08.00 – 12.00 – early departure to the Muddy Volcanoes – unique for their Moonlike landscape
    14.00 – 15.00 – Lunch in a winery in the Prahova wine area including wine tasting
    15.30 – 16.00 – Visit of Bellu Manor House
    18.30 – 19.00 – Accommodation in Brasov in 4* hotel
    19.00 – 20.00 – small tour of the medieval town of Brasov – one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Romania including the Black Church and the Bastions

    Day 7:Back in time to the medieval age


    09.00 – 10.00 – visit the Bran Castle – famous as the Castle of Dracula
    10.30 – 11.30 – visit the Rasnov Fortress
    Departure to Sighisoara Medieval Fortress. On the way to Sighisoara lunch in a traditional location
    15.30 – 16.30 – Visit the Viscri village that became famous because of Prince Charles of England, and the Viscri Fortified Church included in the UNESCO Patrimony
    17.00 – 17.15 – Visit the Saschiz tower and church included in the UNESCO Patrimony
    18.00 – 18.30 – accommodation in Sighisoara in 4* hotel or pension house inside the medieval fortress (included in the UNESCO Patrimony)
    19.00 – 19.30 – small tour to visit Sighisoara medieval fortress (Sighisoara is the only medieval fortress in Europe inhabited since 800 years ago)
    20.00 – 22.30 – special party and dinner (dress code: medieval) in the house where Dracula was born

    Day 8: Back in time to the medieval age (2)


    09.00 – 12.30 – visit the old fortress of Sighisoara including the beautiful Clock Tower, the Torture Chamber and Medieval Weapons Hall, the Fortress Towers, Squares and Churches

    Departure to Medias for a small tour of the old town

    Day 9:From medieval Transilvania to medieval Oltenia


    09.00 – 11.30 – visit the Bruckentahl Museum and the Council House Tower in Sibiu
    Departure to Horezu on the beautiful Olt Valley
    Visit the Cozia Monastery with the tomb of Mircea the Old (Dracula’s grandfather)
    Lunch in the beautiful thermal spring resort of Govora
    Visit the Trovanti open air museum
    Visit the Horezu Monastery (included in the UNESCO Patrimony)
    18.00 – 18.30 – accommodation in 4* pension house or 5* manor house in Horezu or Maldarasti
    19.30 – 21.00 – boyar dinner at the manor house

    Day 10: From pottery workshop to Transalpina and military camp


    09.00 – 11.30 – pottery workshop – each tourist will learn how to create his/her own clay pottery using traditional techniques (Horezu pottery is included in the UNESCO Patrimony)
    12.00 – 13.00 – visit the Maldaresti cula – old aristocrat houses with strong defensive features
    13.00 – 14.00 – soft lunch
    14.00 – 14.30 – final pottery product reception
    Transalpina mountain crossroad from Novaci to Sebes – for almost 5 hours during the mountain cross will be seen the most beautiful breathtaking landscapes
    20.00 – 20.30 – accommodation in the military camp of Arsenal Park
    20.30 – 21.30 – short military camp tour
    21.30 – 24.00 – dinner and military party (dress code – military)

    Day 11: Outstanding: castle, old church, old fortress, red ravine, Vauban fortress

    12.30 – 13.15 – visit the old city and fortress of the Roman Sarmizegetusa

    Day 12: Northern Transylvania and Maramures


    09.00 – 10.30 – visit the Turda Salt Mine (the most beautiful salt mine in the world according to CNN)
    12.00 – 13.00 – visit the History Museum of Transylvania – the main attraction being the OOPART (Out of Place ARTifact) known as the UFO Heel from Aiud
    Soft lunch in the medieval town of Cluj

    Departure to Maramures County
    17.30 – 18.00 – visit Barsana Monastery complex (included in the UNESCO Patrimony)
    19.00 – 19.30 – accommodation in Valea Vaserului in a 4* old train
    20.00 – 22.00 – lunch around the fire camp, traditional music and dance performances of Tziptzers (Austrian colonists who arrived here around 1800 to process timber)

    Day 13: Mocanita forest train tour, Merry Cemetery and Pain Memorial


    09.00 – 12.30 – forest tour with Mocanita steam train used in the past for wood transportation
    Lunch in a traditional location near Sighet
    15.00 – 15.30 – visit the Merry Cemetery
    16.00 – 17.00 – visit the Pain Memorial in Sighetu Marmatiei
    Departure to Moldova
    19.30 – 20.00 – crossing the Borgo Pass on the footsteps of Dracula

    Day 14: Bucovina and Moldova


    09.00 – 09.30 – visit the Voronet Monastery – called “the Sixtine Chapel” of the East (included in the UNESCO Patrimony)

    Day 15: Bicaz Gorges, Red Lake, Szekely Land and farewell dinner at Cantacuzino Castle

    12.30 – 14.00 – Trekking to the volcano lake of St. Ana in Tusnad
    14.00 – 15.00 – Traditional Szekely lunch in Tusnad

    19.00 – 21.00 – farewell dinner and party at Cantacuzino Castle
    22.00 – 22.30 – Accommodation in Busteni in 4* hotel

    Day 16: Sphinx experience and the beauty of Peles Castle


    09.00 – 10.30 – climb with the cabin on the top of Bucegi Mountains (2500 m) to visit the Sphinx and Babele natural park (if time allows can also be included an one hour trip to the Caraiman Cross)
    12.30 – 13.30 – visit the Peles Castle – one of the most beautiful castles in Europe
    Traditional lunch at the Hunter’s Cottage
    Arrival on Henri Coanda Airport for departure (depending of the flight time can be added another night in Bucharest)
    End of tour and farewell
